Thanks to contributor #47869158; Fred Brunken, 84, dies Saturday; funeral Tuesday Fred Brunken, 84, Columbus, died Saturday afternoon at Madison. He had been ill the past two weeks. The Rev. D. Lee Grace will officiate at funeral services, which will be held at 2 p. m. Tuesday at McKown Funeral chapel here. Burial will be in Columbus cemetery. The body now lies in state at the funeral home. He was born Oct. 30, 1880, in Platte county, the son of Dicdridi and Sophie Meilahm Brunken. He attended rural school in Platte county. A farm laborer, Mr. Brunken was a lifetime reisdent of this county. He was baptized in the Baptist church. He is survived by one sister, Mrs. Emma Miliulka of Columbus; a stepmother; Mrs. Theresa Brunken Chambre of Chicago; a half-brother, Walter Brunken, and half-sister, Mrs. LeRoy (Olga) Nelson, both of Chicago; and many nieces and nephews. Mr. Brunken was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, August, Henry and John; and one sister, Mrs. Mary Kluever. Memorials may be given lo Behlen Memorial hospital.
