Elizabeth was the mother of 5 children,... Elizabeth was Hezekiah Croghan's " favorite wife".... and the financial manager of the family. Elizabeth has been lost to us for over 100 years,……anyone who went to her funeral is gone. None alive know where she is buried............. After the death of their middle son, Hezekiah "Babe"in 1901, while living near Correctionville, Iowa, they sold their land and livery business in Anthon, Iowa about 1907....and moved to Rock County, Nebraska with their grandson James Harold "Jesse" Ridder, son of Mary Croghan…. They lived near their son James David Croghan and his family. She and Hezekiah left Rock County, Nebraska after selling their property in about 1911, then moved to California Junction, Iowa.... Elizabeth's son, William, had said she was buried at California Junction, Iowa....there is not a cemetery in that small town, and he never took anyone to her grave.....it appears there was no obituary published in the nearest newspaper, the county seat has no record of her death, the records are missing from 1911 to 1924.... She may be buried next to her son Hezekiah.....we are still searching.... The only proof of her death is a newspaper article in Fremont, Nebraska....with a Kate Irene Shadden,,,,who is not related and yet received a telegram of her death..... Hezekiah had a farm sale two months after the death of Elizabeth, and moved to Fremont, Nebraska......
