Bio

Alonzo DeFord enlisted for a 3 year term into the 126th Ohio Vol. Infantry, on August 15, 1862. He mustered in as a private into Company F, on September 4, 1864. On November 27, 1863, he was promoted to a corporal. He was wounded at the battle of the Wilderness, on May 6, 1864. On September 21, 1864, he was wounded again, this time at Flint Hill, Virginia. He was promoted to sergeant on January 1, 1865. Mustered out with his regiment on June 25, 1865, at Washington, D. C.. ∼
