Bio

Life Legacy Upon hearing of the January 23, 2019 passing of Dorothy Uvena Allee (Wortham), 88, of Tomball, senior executives at the Campho-Phenique company immediately called an emergency meeting to brace for the impact of the anticipated drop in sales. Yes, "Grannie Dot" (as she was known) was a true believer that Campho-Phenique could cure almost any ill in this world. She was born on July 3, 1930, in Palestine, Texas to the late Roy Wortham and Rosa Langston Wortham. She graduated from Klein High School in 1948, where she laid a solid foundation for a family of overachievers (she was chosen by her classmates as both the Senior Class President and the Homecoming Queen). During her senior year, she met a much shorter man who made her laugh. She soon married Phelan Allee and, together, they raised four boys. When she wasn't busy building a team of football players, she doted on her parents and grandchildren all while cornering the north Houston cosmetics market by selling Avon. Grannie Dot was an active member of the Church of Christ for more than 70 years, where she gained top potluck accolades for her chicken and dumplings and summer pasta salad. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and son, Roy Dean Allee; daughter-in-law, Roxyann Warren Allee; and granddaughter, Mandy Renee Allee. She is survived by brother RE Wortham and wife Annette; children, Phelan "Al" Allee Jr. and wife LaNell; Kent LaVon Allee and wife Gerri; and Morris Dale Allee; daughter-in-law, Theresa Allee; grandchildren Christine King, Bethany Allee, Jake Allee, Kent Allee II (KL), John Harrison, Jeremy Allee, Stephanie Allee, David Allee, Shari Guthrie, Nicholas Allee, Jessica Mirrielees, Jennifer Mirrielees, Angela Collins, and Patrick Mirrielees; great grandchildren Ellie, Zackary, and Micah King; Violet and David Gould; Tripp Allee; Nolan and Hayes Allee; Mak and Tess Harrison; Aurora Guthrie; Tre Mirrielees, Cade and Madison Allee, and Adelaide and Amelia Collins. Grannie Dot is already missed by those who love her. May she forever enjoy a never-ending Dollar Store in the sky.
