ST. EDWARD—Archie Paul Torson, 93, of St. Edward, passed away Wednesday, January 16, 2019, at O’Neill Care Center and Rehabilitation in O’Neill. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, January 24, 2019 at St. Edward Catholic Church with Father William L’Heureux officiating. Interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery in St. Edward. A rosary service will be held at 9:30 a.m. Thursday before the service at the church. His wishes were to be cremated. Palmer-Santin Funeral Home is serving the family. Archie was born March 28, 1925 to Vincent and Hedwig (Zelazny) Torson at Cedar Rapids. He attended country school west of Fullerton. On September 16, 1948, he married Dolores Werts and they were blessed with two children, Kim and Connie. Archie worked at Behlen Manufacturing Company in Columbus for 32 years. After retirement, his hobbies included mowing lawns, playing cards, and gambling. He was a member of St. Edward Catholic Church. He is survived by his daughter, Connie (Darrell) Van Meter of O’Neill; son, Kim (Vivian) Torson of Omaha; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; and sister, Chestyne “Tootie” Davidson of Maxwell. He is preceded in death by his wife, Dolores; his parents; brother, Adam Torson; and sisters, Frances Torson, Irene Knopik, and Viola Loesch.
