She was born March 11, 1939, in Wahoo to John and Cecilia (Bartek) Leitgeb. AnnaBelle Vermeline, age 79 of Malmo, died Friday, December 21, 2018 in Wahoo. She was born March 11, 1939 in Wahoo to John and Cecilia (Bartek) Leitgeb. AnnaBelle grew up in Wahoo and attended St. Wenceslaus School. At age 16, she married Gayle L. Vermeline at Edensburg Lutheran Church in Malmo. AnnaBelle was active in the American Legion Auxiliary Post #308 in Weston where she served as President and later transferred to the Malmo American Legion Auxiliary Post #232. AnnaBelle worked for a time at the Fairview Café in Wahoo, but most of her life and energy were spent as a homemaker on the farm, raising her four children. She also bred registered Dalmations. Livestock was of particular interest to AnnaBelle. She loved to predict when the cattle would calve, and watch as the new calves were born. The farm life afforded AnnaBelle the great opportunity to enjoy all aspects of nature, especially bird watching. The many blankets she crocheted were cherished by her family members and friends. Family was especially important to AnnaBelle, and she delighted in spending time with her grandchildren. She is survived by her children Kim (Dennis) Heiser of Weston, Todd (Barb) Vermeline of Malmo, Tracy (Daniel Ibarra Garcia) Vermeline of Ceresco; daughter-in-law Kari Vermeline Brady of Idaho Falls, ID; sisters Dottie Hraban of Wahoo, Betty Jurgens of North Bend; grandchildren Brianne (Terry) Menzel of Waterloo, Shane Vermeline of Idaho Falls, ID, Doug (Megan) Heiser of Dwight, Mike (Megan) Heiser of Lincoln, Scott (Jessica) Heiser of Lincoln, Kelly Heiser of Weston, Lance (Christiana) Vermeline of Waverly, Sophia Ibarra Garcia of Ceresco; great-granchildren Crayton Smith, Lauren Menzel, Alaina Vermeline, Everlie Vermeline, Roman Heiser, Jude Heiser, and Evan Heiser.
