Published in the Ord Quiz, Ord, Nebraska, Thursday, June 17, 1954, Page 7, Column 3 Burwell Rites Held for John Lola, 59 Funeral services were held at two o'clock Wednesday, June 9, for John Lola, 59 year old Burwell man, who died earlier in the week at a hospital. The services were held from the Congregational church at Burwell with Reverend Warren Porter, of Ord, officiating. Interment followed in the Geranium cemetery. Mr. Lola was born February 9, 1895 at Comstock, Nebr. May 8, 1922, he married Julia Bower. The family lived near Comstock until 1944 when they moved to Burwell. Mr. Lola was a veteran of WW II. Survivors include the widow; Julia; one son, Richard, of Ferrelview, Mo.; three daughters, Matilda, of Malin, Ore., Wilma of Tekamah, Nebr., and Mary Ann, of Burwell; two brothers, Joseph of San Jose, Calif., and Charles of Beatrice, and six grandchildren.
