Bio

Matilda Nedbalek, a long time resident of Malin, died in Spokane, Wash. on Sept. 12, 2015, at the age of 91. Matilda was born July 3, 1924, in Comstock, Neb. to John and Julia Lola. She did her schooling in Comstock, and then met Eddie Nedbalek. The couple were married in 1947. They moved to Malin, Ore., shortly thereafter, where they started a lifelong career in farming. In addition to farming, Matilda enjoyed gardening, dancing, travel and sightseeing, basketball, football, car racing, and had a special fondness for cats. Survivors include her daughter of Medical Lake, Wash.; sisters both of Burwell, Neb.; and numerous nieces and nephews. Herald and News, Sept. 20, 2015
