Born at House #1, Val, Southern Bohemia. Son of Jakub & Marie (Pavek-aka-Sima) Svoboda. Baptized November 1, 1810 at Val. Married Josefa Sticha on June 2, 1829 at Novosedly nad Nežárkou, Southern Bohemia. Immigrated to America with wife & children arriving on August 25, 1859 via New York.
