Universal City – William Malish, 53, superintendent of the Schertz-Cibolo Independent School District since 1962, died unexpectedly Wednesday. A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at the Samuel Clemens High School building at Schertz, which was built under his administration. Rev. Wilson Hill, pastor of Beitel Memorial Lutheran Church, will conduct the service. The body will be a the Delicrest Funeral Home from Noon to 10 p.m. Thursday and at the school from 8 to 10 a.m. Friday. Services will be held at 4 p.m. Friday at St. John's Lutheran Church in Thrall. Burial will be in the Taylor City Cemetery. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Frances Malish, and a son, Bill Malish, both of Universal City; a daughter, Mrs. Robert (Phyllis) Leschber, Austin; his father, Ed Malish, Granger; a brother, Alvis Malish, Cleburne; three sisters, Mrs. Rudolph Kropp of Granger, Mrs. Manuel Teltow of Leander and Mrs. Clifford Cawthon of Temple; and one granddaughter.
