Bio
Passed away Nov. 14, 2018 in a motorcycle accident in Colorado where he recently moved. Born Feb. 6, 1940 in Santa Rosa, Calif., and came to the AV in 1949. AVJUHS Class of 1958. A retired Navy Veteran 1959-1983, Vietnam Veteran. He was employed by Lockheed Martin at NASA. A member of the PGR, American Legion/ALR Post 311, GWTA, AMA, FRA and GWRRA Member. Fred was preceded in death by his wife of 38 years Jacqueline R. Johnson and son Timothy W. John- son. He is survived by his wife of 15 years, Lois D. Johnson, step-son Bob Harrod, daughter Yvonne and son Fred Jr.; Stephanie Muzzy. Grandchildren Joshua and Lynn, and great grandson Timothy. Also surviving are siblings: Charles of Lompoc, Robert (Keiki) of Oregon and sister Anita (Jack Ducummon) of Oregon along with many nieces and nephews. Fred was known and loved by many in the A.V. He was a good man, loyal and generous friend who always volunteered willingly to help others, especially Military and Veterans. He will be greatly missed by many. Remember to look in the sky for Fred riding the clouds. He loved to "ride to eat and eat to ride". Memorial services scheduled on Dec. 11, 2018 at 10 am, at Slice of Life Education Enrichment Center, 48771 W. Valley Blvd., Tehachapi CA, at 11:15 am leave for Bakersfield National Cemetery, 12:30 pm at BNC for Navy Honors.
