Darrell Lee Hellbusch, 74, of Fullerton, died Saturday, November 3, 2018 at the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha. Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, November 7, 2018, at the Broken Arrow Wilderness Chapel in Fullerton with Reverend Vern Olson officiating. A private family inurnment will be at a later date at Fullerton Cemetery in Fullerton. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Tuesday, November 6th at Palmer-Santin Funeral Home in Fullerton. Darrell was born on January 28, 1944 in Central City, Nebraska to Wayne and Vera (Luft) Baker. Later, he was adopted by Dale Hellbusch. Darrell lived most of his childhood west of Fullerton on the farm with his grandparents, George and Ida Luft. He attended a country school west of Fullerton and attended Fullerton High School. In 1962, Darrell married Bette Whalan and they had two children together, Mark and Lori. In 1967, he married Patricia Rother and they had three children together, Susan, Kevin and Angie. He resided in Fullerton many years with his longtime love, Sue Ausbun, until his death. Darrel was a trucker for life and he loved hunting, fishing, and his dogs. Darrell is survived by his father, Wayne (Patricia) Baker of Ogden, UT; his five children, Mark (Rachel) Waddington of Wentzville, MO, Lori Waddington-Dunn of Castle Rock, CO, Susan Pfeifer (Jeremy Truesdell) of Tallahassee, FL, Kevin (Dee) Hellbusch of Plattsmouth, NE, and Angie (Brian) Herman of Fullerton, NE; 12 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; sisters, Dianne (Harold) Harris, Darla (Doug) Russell, and Debbie Sonderup, all of Fullerton, and Lisa Baker of Boise, ID; brothers, Doug (Carol) Hellbusch of Fullerton, David (Marti) Hellbusch of Genoa, Dick Hellbusch of Belgrade, Dan (Annette) Hellbusch of Columbus, and David (Carma) Baker of Ogden, UT; and sister-in-law, Marilyn Hellbusch of Fullerton. He was preceded in death by his mother, Vera Hellbusch; adoptive father, Dale Hellbusch; and brother, Dennis Hellbusch.
