Bio

Vera E. Hellbusch, 93, of Fullerton, passed away Monday, September 10, 2018, at Boone County Health Center in Albion, surrounded by her family. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, September 13, 2018, at Mount Calvary Lutheran Church in Fullerton with Reverend Allen Pingel officiating. A private family interment will be held at a later date at Fullerton Cemetery in Fullerton. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Wednesday, September 12th at Mount Calvary Lutheran Church. Vera was born November 11, 1924, to George and Ida (Holtz) Luft at Havens, Nebraska. As a child, she attended Rural School District No. 23 in Nance County. She grew up helping her folks on the farm south of Fullerton. She married Dale Hellbusch on November 3, 1948. She loved horses and country music. She had a beautiful singing voice and played the guitar. She also frequently played and sang at barn dances. Dale and Vera’s greatest love was their family of six sons, Darrell (Sue), Dennis (Marilyn), Doug (Carol), all of Fullerton, David (Martina) of Genoa, Dick (Lisa) of Belgrade, and Danny (Annette) of Columbus; three daughters, Diane (Harold) Harris, Darla (Doug) Russell, and Debbie Sonderup, all of Fullerton; and her dog, Misty. She is also survived by 24 grandchildren, 55 great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren, and her brother, William Luft of Fullerton. She is preceded in death by her husband, Dale; son, Dennis; grandson, Kurt Hellbusch; twin-brother, Vernon; brothers, Phillip, Lawrence, and Raymond; and sisters, Christine Wait and Josephine Bremer.
