Obituary for Monica Ann Gentry Monica Gentry, 65, of Grand Island passed away Wednesday, October 3, 2018 at Wedgewood Care Center. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 AM, Tuesday at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church with the Reverend Martin Egging officiating. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 6:00 PM with a Vigil Rosary Service beginning at 6 PM at Livingston-Sondermann Funeral Home Chapel. She was born on October 25, 1952 at Grand Island, NE to Charles and Rose (Sanchez) Jones. She grew up in Grand Island. She was united in marriage to Wallace “Wally” Dean Gentry July 7, 1977 at Las Vegas, NV. After which they made their home in Grand Island. For their 25th wedding anniversary, the couple renewed their vows at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. Monica was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She cherished family time and holidays having everyone together. She enjoyed bingo, and playing all kinds of games with her grandchildren. All of Monica’s furry four legged friends were a very big part of her life. She was a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. She is survived by her husband, Wally; sons, Shawn (Beth) Gentry of Grand Island, Pedro (Brandi) Gentry; daughter, Nicole (Michael) Oberst; grandchildren, Annelise, Madelin, and Charlie, Michael, Simon, Christian, Pedro Jr., Emma, Briannah, and Hannah; brothers, Charles “Jim” Jones Jr., and Nick Jones; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Rose Jones;
