Services for Evelyn Rainey Holbrooks, 82, of Piedmont will be Sunday, October 07, 2018, at 3:00 P.M. at Thompson Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Highland Cemetery. The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service. Mrs. Holbrooks passed away Thursday, October 04, 2018, at Gadsden Regional Medical Center. Survivors include children, Jimmy Donaldson (Susie) of Piedmont and Bill Donaldson (Denise) of Spring Garden; stepdaughter, Retha Donaldson Brogdon (David) of Florida; stepchildren, Bob Holbrooks (Denita) of Piedmont, Bonnie Gibson (Jeff) of Kansas, and Pat Holbrooks (Sondra) of Piedmont; and a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Stacey Donaldson, Cale Donaldson, Andrew Maddox, and Sam Ray. Mrs. Holbrooks was a resident of Piedmont most of her life and retired from SCT Yarn. She loved to cook, shop, and spend time with family. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Robert Donaldson and Owen H. "Buddy" Holbrooks; stepchildren, Billy Holbrooks and Howard Holbrooks; and nine brothers and sisters.
