Bio

The Anniston Star, Monday, Sept. 15, 1958 Orbey J. Rainey Passes At Home Orbey J. Rainey, 62, of Piedmont, Rt. 2, died unexpectedly Sunday, September 14, 1958, at 2:00 p.m. at his residence. Mr. Rainey was an employee of Standard Coosa-Thatcher Company and had lived in Piedmont all of his life. Funeral services were held Tuesday, September 16 at 2:30 p.m. at Piedmont Congregational Holiness Church with Rev. Archie Gardner and Rev. C. B. Davis officiating. Burial was in Goshen Valley Cemetery with Owens Brown-Service of Piedmont in charge. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Lizzie Rainey; six daughters, Mrs. Raymond Albea of Piedmont, Rt. 3, Mrs. James Gaddie and Mrs. Warren Gaddie of Piedmont, Rt. 2, Mrs. Amon Warmack of Anniston, Mrs. George McFry (Eula) of Piedmont, Mrs. Robert Donaldson (Evelyn) of Smyrna, Tennessee; four sons, Orbey J. Rainey, Jr., LeRoy Rainey, Jesse Rainey, and Harold Rainey, all of Piedmont; four brothers, D. J. Rainey and Clay Rainey of Piedmont, Jesse Rainey of Esom Hill, Georgia, and Harold Rainey of Boaz; two sisters, Mrs. Hattie Hardin of Jacksonville, Mrs. Lula Lane of Piedmont; 22 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Nephews were pallbearers.
