Bio
Joyce Cowan, 82, of Baytown, Texas died May 4, 2007. She was born in Houston in 1924. Joyce lived most of her life in Baytown where she graduated from Robert E. Lee High School and was a long time member of St. John's United Methodist Church. She worked as a telephone operator until she opted to become a full time homemaker and mother to her two sons. She was a devoted and involved mother to her boys and was very excited about becoming a grandmother after so many years. Her first grandson will arrive in June. Her parents: Preston and Jewell Morris and her husband of forty-eight years, Roy Cowan preceded her in death as did her elder son, Eddie Cowan. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law: Michael and Sonya Cowan; Brothers and Sisters-in-law: Bob and Bettie Morris, Leo and Dena Morris, George and Irene Morris and Allan and Mary Lou Morris. Her only sister and closest friend: Frances Ellington and husband James. A special niece/companion: Lynne Smith. Joyce also leaves behind care-givers that she considered family, her beloved Mary Alvarez, who was always there for her, and her TV and "Dance Partner", Janie Ramirez Services were entrusted to Earthman Funeral Directors of Baytown, Texas.
