Elmer Dwayne Heaps Obituary Elmer Dwayne Heaps, 74, of Alpine died Monday April 16, 2002. He was born May 16, 1927 in Green Timber, Idaho; son of Thomas Levi and Isabella Kershaw Heaps. He married Shirley Ann Brown Dec. 15, 1947. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He and his wife resided in Alpine all their married life of 54 years. He received his education in St. Anthony, Idaho. He retired from US Steel Corporation after 39 years in the blast furnace, as Spell Foreman. He was a High Priest in the Alpine 5th Ward. He enjoyed the outdoors, he loved horses and enjoyed hunting and fishing. He is survived by his wife of Alpine; one daughter and four sons: Connie (James) Maland, Thomas D. (Susan M.) Heaps, Adin (Susan L.) Heaps, Joseph (Boni) Heaps, and Mark (Mandy) Heaps; two brothers and two sisters: Clift (Janet) Heaps, Alpine; Willard (Merlin) Heaps, Alpine; Melba (Lou) Golavich, Vallejo, CA; Julia (Gerald) Devey, Roseburg, OR; 16 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren who will miss him greatly. Funeral services will be held Monday April 22, at 1:00 p.m. at the Alpine 5th Ward, 98 East Canyon Crest Rd. Friends may call Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Anderson & Sons Mortuary, 49 East 100 North, American Fork; and Monday at the church from 11:45 to 12:45 p.m. Burial, Alpine City Cemetery.
