Mass of Christian Burial for Frances Pratt, age 93, of Papillion, Nebraska, formerly of Meadow Grove, Nebraska, will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, September 4, 2018, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Norfolk, Nebraska. Reverend Dan Andrews will be Celebrant, with burial in Prospect Hill Cemetery in Norfolk. Visitation will be Monday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Norfolk, with a 7:00 p.m. Vigil Service. Brockhaus-Harlan Funeral Home in Tilden, Nebraska is in charge of arrangements. Frances died Wednesday, August 29, 2018, at Welcov Assisted Living in Papillion. Frances, the daughter of Stanislaus (Charles) and Anna (Kula) Prososki, was born on March 3, 1925, on a farm outside of Osceola, NE, in the Community of Pilsno. She was 11th of 11 children. She graduated from St. Bonaventure High School in Columbus, NE. She babysat and cleaned houses during her school years and worked at the Columbus Planing Mill after high school as the first woman bookkeeper until promoted to Assistant Manager. She was a member of the Working Girls Sorority and during the war was a Volunteer Red Cross Nurse's Aid. On May 7, 1946, Frances married Don Pratt at Concordia, KS. Don and Frances made their home in Columbus, NE until 1956, when they moved to Meadow Grove where they farmed until retirement in 1988. Retirement years together were divided between summer months spent at their cabin on Big Stone Lake in South Dakota and winter months at their residence in Sun City, AZ. Frances moved to Welcov Assisted Living in Papillion, NE in 2016. Frances enjoyed playing cards, cooking up great meals, and dancing to big band music. She would always put on great parties for friends and family. She was preceded in death by her husband, Don and is survived by one daughter, Kathy Larsen and her husband Don of Papillion, NE; three sons, Bill and his wife, Darlene, of Clermont, FL, Bob and his wife, Paula of Norfolk, NE, and Jim and his wife Jenny of Pine Bluffs, WY; 14 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
