RICKER, Anne Jane Mrs. Anne (Prososki) Ricker, on August 25, 2016 just four months before her 102nd birthday past on. Funeral services will be at 10:30 am at St Bruno's Catholic Church in Whittier, CA on Wednesday August 31, 2016. Visitation will be from 4pm to 6pm on Tuesday August 30, 2016 at Guerra & Gutierrez Mortuary, 6338 Greenleaf Ave. Whittier, CA. Vigil at 6pm. Anne was born on Christmas Day, December 25, 1914 in Osceola, Polk, Nebraska. Anne attended the country grade school and graduated from Osceola High School in 1932. After graduation she was employed by an attorney until she went to work for General Telephone. She then moved to California in 1935 and worked for a lawyer four months before getting employed in the automotive industry. In 1942, she married Mike Ricker and they formed their own business known as Ricker Motors Auto Agency. They were involved in the sale of classic and antique cars as well as American Motors, in Whittier for many years on Washington Blvd. They worked together in that business and enjoyed their collection of antique autos, as well as their travels to buy them. Anne was preceded in death by her husband Mike Ricker, her parents, Anna Kula and Charles Prososki, her two brothers and 7 sisters. Survivors include her sister Frances Pratt, her step-son, Michael Ricker Jr. (Donna). She had four grandchildren: Michael (Bonnie), Rick (Judie), Mark (Diana) and Robin Ricker, 12 Great-Granchildren, 3 Great-Great Grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Anne Ricker was a pillar in the community, working with the Soroptomist Club and contributing her efforts to the City of Whittier as a business owner. She will surely be missed by all who were fortunate enough to meet Anne, know her and love her. Published in Whittier Daily News on Aug. 30, 2016
