Norma Jean Sickler, 86, died on August 6, 2018 at the White Oak Health Campus, Monticello. She was born on November 8, 1931 in White County, IN to the late Arthur C. Welte and Eva Baer, On December 29, 1951 at the Guernsey Church of the Brethren in rural Monticello, she married Floyd C. Sickler; he survives. Norma had lived in White County, IN all of her life. She was an active member of the Guernsey Church of the Brethren in rural Monticello and shared her talents for sewing and making lap blankets. Norma and her husband, Floyd, had helped with the amazing Ham and Bean Dinner the church had for numerous years. She had worked at the Peoples Savings and Loan in Monticello for eighteen years. Norma was the sweetest, most caring and kind person you could ever meet and know. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Norma Jean was an avid sports fan. She is survived by her husband; three children; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; one sister-in-law; two sisters; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, great-great-nieces, great-great-nephews, cousins and friends. Norma was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Carol Sickler; two brothers, Robert and Larry Welte; sister, Audrey Ladd; and one granddaughter, Melissa Sickler.
