Robert "Sunshine" Lowrance of Lubbock passed away Sunday, July 22, 2018. He was born September 13, 1926 to John and Mary (Hussey) Lowrance in Quitaque, Texas. Sunshine married Lena Mae (Harmon) Lowrance on December 11, 1949. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served during WWII before being honorably discharged. Sunshine worked as a plumber for over 30 years and owned his own plumbing company and served 25 years as a volunteer fireman in Andrews, Texas. He also spent time as a caretaker at Camp Blue Haven in Las Vegas, New Mexico. Sunshine was an avid outdoors man, he enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was a member of Greenlawn Church of Christ. Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 70 years, Lena; daughter, Gwen Morris and husband Doug of Lubbock; sons, Greg Lowrance, Glenn Lowrance and wife Toni all of Lubbock; brothers, Bill Lowrance, Doyle Lowrance, J.N. Lowrance; sisters, Louise Horton, Doris Della Monica, Elsie Fitzgerald; grandchildren, Matthew Lowrance, Joey Lowrance, Christopher Morris, Brian Morris, Mika Pierce, Meghan Simpson, Melisa Haney; and twelve great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, five brothers, and one sister. Visitation will be held from 2- 8 p.m. with family receiving friends from 5- 7 p.m. Wednesday, July 25, 2018 at Combest Family Funeral Homes. A graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday July 26, 2018 at Resthaven Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers the family request memorial donations be made to Camp Blue Haven, C/O David Webb, P.O. Box 921546, Southlake, TX 76092.
