Bio

Amanda married Benjamin K Eshleman and they had five children: Anna Frances; William H; Walter; John; and Elizabeth Eshleman. ---- Obit was found in the "Telegraph Bulletin" of North Platte, Nebraska on page #10 and reads as follows: Pioneer Woman Dies Here. Mrs. Amanda Ellen Eshleman, 221 W. 11th, died in a local hospital Saturday at 12:30 p.m. She was born Sept. 9, 1861 in York County, Pa. She was 90 years of age and had been a resident of this community for 68 years, coming here in 1884 and settling on a farm near Sioux Lookout. She later moved to a homestead on Jackmorrow Flats. With her husband, she made her home in North Platte in 1909. She was also a member of the First Christian Church. Her husband, Benjamin preceded her in death in September, 1942. She is survived by the following children: Mrs. Anna Long, Mrs. Elizabeth Kenworthy, John, Walter and William H. Eshleman, all of North Platte; two sisters, Mrs. Julia Beaumont, of Olympia, Wash., and Mrs. Etta leiby of York, Pa.; 12 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren and four great, great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 2:30 p.m. at the First Christian Church, with the Rev. E. Phil Dubbs officiating. Burial will be in the North Platte cemetery.
