TUTTLE Layton - David Hunter Tuttle, 61, former mayor of Orangeville, Emery county, and for the past two years a resident of Layton, died Sunday at seven-fifteen at the family home in Verdeland Park. Mr. Tuttle was born in Orangeville, March 25, 1884, a son of Azariah and Mary Wilkin Tuttle. He had lived in Emery county all of his life with the exception of the past two years. For several years he was a precinct chairman and district chairman of the Democratic party in Emery county. He served as mayor of Orangeville for one term beginning in 1933. While living in Orangeville he was a rancher and a stock raiser. Following the death in 1931 of his first wife, Mrs. Zina Grange Tuttle, whom he married in Orangeville, in 1903, he married Mrs. LaFonta Lowry Livingston in Manti, June 7, 1935. Active in the L. D. S. church he was president of the L. D. S. Orangeville ward 149th quorum of seventy at the time of his death. Mrs. Tuttle has been serving as cashier for the federal public housing agency at Verdeland Park. Mr. Tuttle was a salesman for the Mountain States Insurance Co. at the time of death. Surviving are his widow, a daughter, Mrs. Geneve Gordon, Huntington, Emery county; also three grandchildren; three foster children, Dale Livingston, army of occupation, Germany; Lois Livingston, Layton, and Lowry Livingston, navy, south Pacific, and the following brothers and sisters: Milton Tuttle, Orangeville; Mark Tuttle and Mrs. Clarence Nelson, Salt Lake City; Mrs. J. A. Rixey, Downieville, Calif.; William Tuttle, Oakland, Calif., and Mrs. George C. Lynch, Washinton, D. C. The body will be shipped to Orangeville by the mortuary in Clearfield for funeral services and burial.
