Johnnie Nell Dockery Ferguson July 10, 1926 ~ June 16, 2020 Johnnie Nell Ferguson, 93, was born July 10, 1926 in Trenton, Texas to Earl and Freda Frances Keller Dockery. She passed away June 16, 2020. In 1940, when Johnnie was 14 she won the title of Trenton Onion Queen. She attended Trenton High School and then North Texas State Teachers College (now University of North Texas). She married Don Ferguson on December 15, 1945. God blessed them with a long and happy life together. She enjoyed spending time hosting many friends and family members at their lake house on Lake Tawakoni. One of her other favorite past times was dancing with Don in their square dance club, The Kissin Kuzzins. Johnnie was a member of South Garland Baptist Church and enjoyed the friends and fellowship she found there. She never met a stranger and would strike up a conversation with anyone that crossed her path. Her sweet smile would light up a room and her sense of humor and infectious laugh were contagious. She was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by her family, but we rejoice that she is now free and whole in her heavenly home Survived by her sisters, Helen Frances Row and Paula Jean Graham, her only daughter, Donna Hurst, three grand children, eight great grand children. Preceded in death by her husband of 69 years, Don Wade Ferguson; her three sisters, Julia Benita Shinpaugh, May Evelyn Wilson and Mary Lou Kissinger, two brothers, Edward "Dick" Dockery and James Earl Dockery and grandson, Tanner Hurst.
