Arnold was the son of Edward Louis Dohme (1848–1896) and Sarah Adelia Gardner (1873–1899) He married Lucille Rene Lucy Landemklos (1896–1978) on 21 Jan 1915 in Grand Island, Hall, Nebraska, USA. They were the parents of Clarence Harold (1915–1997) Adolf Edward (1917–2013) Izella L Dohme Heuermann (1925–1985) After his death, his brother Louis John Dohm married his widow and raised their children.
