Bio
Helen Louise Underwood Windham was born January 16, 1923 in Italy, Texas, to Robert Frank and Johnnie Ella Sanders Underwood. She was raised in Carthage graduating with the class of 1940. She attended business college in Shreveport, Louisiana, and married Alva Bruce Windham in 1952. They celebrated 28 years of marriage and raised two daughters in a loving home before he preceded her in death in 1980. Louise worked for E.R. Sink Operators as a clerk and retired from McGuire Contractors in 1991. Mrs. Windham was a lifelong member of the First Baptist Church of Carthage. She enjoyed cooking, puzzles, travel, and her yard and garden. She is also preceded in death by her parents, sister, Eva White, brothers, J.R. and George Edward Underwood, sister-in-law, Helen Raley Underwood.
