Nadine A. (Wesely) Jones, 83, of Fremont, NE died Sunday, May 6, 2018 with her family beside her. Nadine was born on October 31st, 1934 in Cedar Bluffs to Joseph A. and Ethel (Fisher) Wesely. She grew up in Cedar Bluffs and graduated from Cedar Bluffs High School in 1952. The youngest of 7 sisters and one brother, the family moved to town when she was 6 months old. When Nadine was 11 years old she detasseled corn. At age 14, she began waiting tables in a small café in town and later in Fremont at the Star Hamburger. At an early age, Nadine and her twin sister, Neola, sang duets at many school functions and weddings. They traveled to sing for the Disabled Veterans and Postmaster conventions. After graduating in 1952, she worked in the office of Gamble Skogmo, Inc. in Fremont, NE. In 1954, Nadine married George R. Kubr. They farmed near Bruno and David City, NE. They had 4 sons and 3 daughters. After a ten year marriage, Nadine moved to Cedar Bluffs with the children and later to Fremont. She returned to Gambles Skogmo for 2.5 years. Nadine retired from Western Electric / AT&T Tech in 1989 after 21 years. In 1971, Nadine moved to Omaha and on June 29th, 1975 married Harold W. Jones at the “Little Brown Church” in Nashua, Iowa. While Nadine had a quiet manner, she had a great impact on many lives. She had an exceptional talent and love for singing and enjoyed dancing as well. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Harold Jones; sisters Evelyn Wesely, Evangeline Vojtech, Ethel Eggers and Delores Stoupa; brother, Orven Wesely; and sons, Joseph, George and Ernest Kubr. Funeral Service will be 11:00 A.M., Friday, May 11, 2018 at Salem Lutheran Church in Fremont, NE. Rev. Chris Hruska will officiate. Visitation with family receiving friends, Thursday, May 10, at Moser Memorial Chapel from 6-8 PM and continuing 1 hour prior to the funeral on Friday at the church. Burial will be at 1pm at Memorial Cemetery in Fremont. Memorials may be directed to the Genesis House in David City, NE. which offers transitional services for victims of domestic abuse.
