Son of William Arnold & Mary A. ELDRIDGE Ellsworth. He married Maria Jane GENOWAYS on 24 Mar 1875 in Peoria, Peoria County, IL. His family moved from Spring Bay, Woodford County, IL to Aurora, Hamilton County, NE in 1878. Their children are: Mary Dianna ELLSWORTH Elwood, Anna Magaret ELLSWORTH (Abel) Smith, and Julia Pearl ELLSWORTH Schrock. From “Hamilton County News”, Aurora, Nebraska dated Friday, February 11, 1881: A large number of the friends of Mr. Charley Ellsworth, eight miles southwest of town, will be surprised and pained to learn of his death, which occurred on Thursday morning of last week from diarrhea. Deceased came here two or three years ago, had many acquaintances and friends here. He leaves a wife and three small children. Deceased was a son of Mr. W. A. Ellsworth, southwest of town, one of the oldest and most respected citizens of our county. Contributor: Linda (46632419) From “The Hamilton County Register”, Aurora, Nebraska dated Friday, January 30, 1920: DEATH OF JANE ELLSWORTH Jane Ellsworth, wife of Charley Ellsworth, who died about forty years ago while a resident of Hamilton county, has this week been interred in the Prairie Gem cemetery, the body having been sent here for burial by the side of her husband.
