Daughter of Edgar Otto Allen and Bertha Larue Richardson. Hometown News: The Beaches (FL) - Friday, May 6, 2016 Joan Gertrude Carpenter, 79, of Indialantic, died Wednesday, April 27, 2016. Arrangements were by Brownlie-Maxwell Funeral Home and Crematory, Melbourne. from Florida Today, Cocoa, Florida, Sunday, 08 May 2016 Joan Gertrude Allen Carpenter was born June 7, 1936 in Melbourne, Florida. She passed away on April 27, 2016. Joan graduated Melbourne High School and took a job at Patrick Air Force Base where she met her husband Richard. After a stint in the Air Force, the couple settled in Norwich, NY. Joan received a degree in accounting, and served as Principal Account Clerk for Chenango County. Joan and Richard retired to Indialantic, Florida 1998. Joan is preceded in death by husband Richard (Dick) L. Carpenter; mother Bertha Richardson West; father Otto Allen; and sister Betty Kaye Allen Jenkins. She is survived by son Darryl Carpenter and wife (Vickie) of Indiana; daughter Toni Carpenter Youngman and husband (Randy) of Orlando; daughter Jill Carpenter; four granddaughters, Bethanne and Jessica Carpenter, Emily and Gail Youngman; four sisters, Rose Allen Moffitt, Linda Anderson, Shelia Hessinger, and Nancy Price and her husband (Allen).
