Coon Rapids Enterprise October 1, 1954 Mrs. Cora E. Williams. 69, who died in Omaha Monday was buried here Wednesday. Funeral services were held from the First Methodist church at 2 p.m. Mrs. Williams had lived in Carroll county most of her life. Her husband, Eugene, well known farmer in the community, died last May. Mrs. Williams had undergone an operation in an Omaha hospital earlier this summer and was recuperating at a nursing home there when she fell and fractured her shoulder. Death came unexpectedly as her recovery had apparently been progressing satisfactorily. The Rev. Cecil C. Latta was in charge of the funeral service. Mrs. Russell Newcomm was organist and accompanied Mrs. Roswell Jordan and Mrs. Delbert Ford as they sang "Saved by Grace" and "Beautiful Garden of Prayer." Pall bearers were Dale George, Wade George, Walter Schumacher, John J. Schumacher, Wayne Accola and Howard Accola. Faith Chapter, O.E.S. held graveside rites. Interment was in Coon Rapids cemetery. Cora Emma Williams, daughter of Lewis and Emma Hoffman was born March 30, 1885, in Coon Rapids, Iowa. She lived most of her life in the community of Coon Rapids. On December 16, 1909, she was united in marriage to Eugene Williams who preceded her in death on May 22, 1954. Mrs. Williams was a member of the First Methodist Church and served it well. She was a member of Faith Chapter, 308 O. E.S.. On November 20 of this year she would have been a 50 year member. During the past four months he has had to make many adjustments, which she was able to do and still remain her same cheerful self. She has two sons by a previous marriage, Thomas L. and Theodore C. Lambert. Thomas L. preceded her in death on May 6, 1950. Surviving is her son, Theodore C. of Omaha, four grandchildren and a host of friends.
