Bio
Wilson Holbrook was the Sheriff of Wise Co. 1886 to 1902 and a Confederate soldier fighting among other places, with the CSA at Lookout Mt. Chattanooga Tenn.. He married a Sarah Jane Kilgore. Sheriff Wilson was in office when Doc Taylor was hanged, and Talt Hall was hanged. He caught smallpox at the jail in Wise Co. from one of the prisoners and was buried at nite in the courthouse yard. He was later buried here at Wise Cemetery.
