Shirley (Nemec) Polansky, age 66, of West, passed away early Saturday afternoon, February 10, 2018, at Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas. A rosary will be recited and Mass of Christian Burial celebrated 10:00 a.m. Thursday, February 15, 2018 at St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption, with Rev. David Trahan as celebrant. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery. The family will receive visitors from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at Aderhold Funeral Home. Shirley was born March 4, 1951, in Waco, the daughter of Vinc V. and Adelle (Marek) Nemec. She attended West schools and was a 1969 graduate of West High School. On April 11, 1970 she was united in marriage to Henry Polansky in West. Shirley worked for Tatex, Tymco, Certainteed, Cracker Barrel and Texas Farm Bureau before retiring in 2017. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption, where she sang with St. Cecelia's Choir. Shirley was also a member of the SPJST Lodge #54 and Catholic Daughters of America Court #829. She enjoyed baking, tending her flowers on her patio, dancing and jogging. Shirley played the guitar and sang with the Nemec Polka Band. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Shirley is preceded in death by her parents; infant son, Brian Polansky and a brother, Jimmie Nemec. Survivors include her husband of 47 years, Henry Polansky of West; her children, Mark Polansky and wife Landrah of Liberty Hill and Shelly Nors of West; her grandchildren, Jadyn and Skyler Polansky and Harper Nors; her sister, Darlene Brown and husband Ray; her dog, Rocky; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Pallbearers are Darrell Bartosh, David Schuessler, Jr, Jacob Polansky, Colton Polansky, David Suttle, Kyle Suttle, Ethan Horton, Zachary Horton.
