Bio
Deltha Jane Nehr Gaida was born May 14, 1934 in Mason County, Texas to Ben and Angeline Nehr. She passed away at home on January 31, 2018. Mrs. Gaida is survived by her husband of 47 years, Robert Gaida of Hamilton, Texas. She is also survived by two daughters; Debbie Wall-Smith of Hamilton, Terri Garza and her husband Jon of Midlothian, Texas, a son, Kelly Johnson and wife Nancy also of Midlothian. Four grandchildren; Jason Wall and wife Kimberly, Josh Wall and wife Jackie, Audree Johnson, and Zack Eddleman. Two great grandchildren; Dax and Gavin Wall, and three step grandchildren, Kevin Garza and wife, Megan Andrea Garza and Maddy Garza. She is also survived by two sisters, Carolyn Curtis and husband, Gerald, of Junction, Texas, D'Ann Green and husband, Gary, of Llano, Texas, two brothers; John Corky Nehr of Sherman and Charles Nehr of Bellmead. Mrs. Gaida was preceded in her by her parents, a twin sister, Esther Jean Nehr, who was married to Morris Halliburton, and a brother, William Nehr. During her years in Hamilton, she worked as a bookkeeper for Farmers Propane and later for Ramon Haile CPA. However, her most enjoyable work was raising sheep, goats and cattle on their small ranch and if asked, her husband would always tell you that she was the real rancher. She will be missed by everyone who knew her. She will be buried in the Oak Wood Cemetery with arrangements through Riley Funeral Home.
