Bio

Florene D. Alato, age 83, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Friday, January 26, 2018. Florene and her twin Lorene were born on July 18, 1934 in Memphis, Texas to the late Virgil Mack and Ida Woodall. Florene married James Edward Alato on March 7, 1953 in Clovis, NM. She and James shared the essence of true love and were inseparable soulmates for 63 years. She was a kind, loving mother with a passion for singing, faith and family. She retired from work as a collections representative and served in the Gideon's International Women's Auxiliary. She was a member of New Beginnings Family Baptist Church & Harrah Church. Florene and Lorene shared twin intuition and were extremely close in heart and spirit. Florene is survived by four children, daughter Linda Dyson & husband Harvey, Cindy Booth & husband Bill, James Kevin Alato & wife JaLene, and Sheri Mathis & husband Darren; 7 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and her twin sister, Lorene Plaster and her husband George, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Edward Alato, brothers Robert (Bill) Davis, Vernon Woodall, and Jim Woodall, sisters, Ruby Satariano, Addie Mae Farrell, Maxine Davis, Norvelle Greer, and Oleta Sparks. Funeral Services to be held at 1 pm. Wednesday, January 31, 2018, at Ford Funeral Service Candlewood Chapel, MWC, OK. Interment to follow at Sunny Lane Cemetery, Del City.
