Bio

Oleta was born August 28, 1932 in Memphis, TX; 7th child to Virgil M. Woodall and Ida O. Gilchrest Woodall. She married Nathan R. Sparks Sr. on January 2, 1952 in Las Cruces, NM. She retired from Sears after 20 years of employment. Oleta was a member of First Baptist Whitesboro; and formerly Valwood Park Baptist Church where she enjoyed singing in choir and teaching Sunday School. Above all, she enjoyed caring for her family and giving to those in need. Oleta was survived by her Children: son, Nathan R. Sparks, Jr. and wife Carol; son, Russell L. Sparks and wife Patricia; daughter, Diane M. Sparks Dutton and husband Darrin; and son, Todd A. Sparks and wife Tracy. Grandchildren: Ginger M. Sparks Collins and husband Tom; Nathan R. Sparks III, Sean C. Sparks, Gabrielle V. Gray, Michael S. Gray, Jacob R. Forson, Brandon R.D. Sparks and wife Jorja; Lance C. Sparks and wife Dallas; Malorie S. Davis and husband Robert; Jerad M.D. Dutton, Travis Nelson and wife Aerial, and Christina Chavez. Great Grandchildren: Caleb, Colton, Tristin, Trevor , Tatum, Tanner, Noah, Triston, Anniston Belle, Raegan, Layla, Jaxson, Ana Bella, Haevyn and Tripp. Sisters: Florene Alato and husband James; Lorene Plaster and husband George. And numerous nieces and nephews. Oleta was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Nathan R. Sparks Sr; Brothers: Robert L. (Bill) Davis, Vernon D. Woodall, and Jim A. Woodall. Sisters: Ruby O. Satariano, Addie Mae Farrell, V. Maxine Davis, T. Norvelle Greer. and Grandson: Trevor Nelson.
