Bio
Ernest Lloyd Drummond, 85, of Grand Island died on Tuesday, January 16, 2018. To honor Ernest’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A Celebration of life will be at All Faiths Funeral Home. Ernest was born January 6, 1933 in Columbus, NE, the son of Raymond and Mabel (Heimier) Drummond. After graduating from high school, he entered the United States Navy on October 31, 1952. A Korean War Veteran, Ernest was honorably discharged October 24, 1956. Over the years, Ernest was a painter in various aspects for several companies. He enjoyed woodworking, playing cards and had the neighborhood squirrels eating out of his hand. Survivors include his daughters, Terri (Troy) Journey of Wood River and Cindy (Troy) Wampole of Grand Island; five grandchildren; and brothers, Ray Donald Drummond of Omaha, George Drummond of Columbus and Fred Drummond of Hastings. He was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters, Marcella, Mary Lou and Louella; and a brother, Melvin.
