Simmons, Lonnie July 29, 1993 Lonnie Simmons, 84, of Kirbyville died Thursday at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont. Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at E. E. Stringer Funeral Home in Kirbyville with Masonic graveside rites at Magnolia Springs Cemetery. A native of Newton County, he lived in Kirbyville 50 years and was a retired building inspector. Survivors include his wife, Lena Simmons of Kirbyville; son, Newton Simmons of Pasadena; daughters, Alice Lee Fillman of Kirbyville and Lavonia Yawn of Silsbee; brother, Owen Simmons of Cedar Hill; nine grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
