Bio

M. O. Johns, age 73, passed away Saturday, January 13, 2018 at his home in Oak Leaf. He was born October 2, 1944 in Clovis, NM to Melvin Virgil and Laura Juanita (Morris) Johns. M. O. married Linda Miller on March 31, 1973 in Madilla, OK. He served in the Air Force from 1961 to 1964. M. O. served 20 years as a police officer with the Dallas Police Department. He later worked as an Investigator for the Dallas County District Attorney's Office, the Dallas County Public Defender and at the Dallas Police Department Camera Unit. MO loved spending time with family and friends. He was an avid reader, a lover of history, enjoyed researching his family genealogy, working the crossword and spending time with his dog. MO was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather. MO is survived by his son, Steven Wayne Johns and wife Amy of Terrell; two beautiful granddaughters who were the light of his life, Olivia his "little darlin" and Sophia his "little angel; brother-in-law, Eddie Henry and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends. MO was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Linda; brother, C.V. Johns; sister Joyce and sister-in-law, Shirley Henry. Visitation for family and friends will be 6 to 8 PM Thursday, January 18, 2018 at the Boze-Mitchell-McKibbin Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 10AM Friday, January 19, 2018 in the chapel of the Boze-Mitchell-McKibbin Funeral Home. Interment will be at 3PM Friday at New Harmony Cemetery in Van, Texas.
