Jerry L. Hejny, 85, passed away in Ennis, Texas, on Monday, January 15, 2018. Burial will be at St. Joseph's Cemetery. Jerry was born in Ennis, Texas, to the late Jerry C. and Mary (Belha) Hejny. He grew up in Ennis and attended Ennis School. On June 30, 1951, he married Georgia Marusak and they made their home in Dallas until moving to Telico in 1959. Jerry worked at Ennis Business Forms as a machinist for over 35 years and was a rancher and farmer in Telico. He was a member of St John Nepomucene Catholic Church and attended Damascus Road Fellowship. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Telico Fire Department where he was Assistant Chief for over 20 years, the Rice Water Department Board and KJT. He enjoyed car racing, deer hunting, farming and cooking barbeque at the halls. He was preceded in death by his brother, George Hejny. and a grandson, Dustin Hejny. Survivors include his wife of more than 66 years, Georgia E. Hejny; sons: Steve Hejny and his wife, Katie, James Hejny and his wife, Judi, Rick Hejny, John Hejny and his wife, Theresa, and Glenn Hejny and his wife, Stacy; nine grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; sister, Dorothy Vanek and her husband, Johnny; sister-in-law, Carol Hejny; and many extended family members and friends.
