John was the son of Johannes "John" Mowers and Gertjen Kuhlmer/Kilmer. 1855 NY State Census, Town of Root, Montgomery Co, NY: John (78) and Catherine (64) Mowers with sons Jacob (32) and Henry (30) and Daughter-in-law Delilah (31).
