Benjamin is the son of John Mowers & Catherine (Van Hoosen) Mowers. Benjamin married Maryett Vandervere in 1848 in Montgomery County, New York. Benjamin and Maryett are the parents of three children: 1. Emily b. 1849 d. 1862 2. Charles Benjamin b. May 27, 1857 d. February 3, 1934 3. Jacob V. b. December 1858 d. 1932
