Vernon Ripley of Moore, Oklahoma, died March 20, 2007 after a long illness. He was born on August 9, 1924 in Comanche County, Texas. He served in the military during World War II and Korea as a Sergeant in the Army. For the rest of his life he was a gospel preacher. He is survived by his wife Clyda; three children, son Tony Ripley of Noble and wife Donna, daughter Kim Sanders of Moore and husband Larry, daughter Jan Clark; grandchildren, Kayla and Kristin Ripley, Lance Sanders, Julie Barnes, and Jordan Clark; great-grandchildren, Alex Sanders, Bella Sanders, Christian Sanders, Tucker Barnes, and Kymbrie Barnes; two sisters, Lois Harvick of Comanche, Texas and Betty Galloway of Abilene, Texas. There will be a graveside service at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Lawton, Oklahoma. Services are under the direction of the John M. Ireland Funeral Home & Chapel.
