Bio
Graveside services for Lois Ripley Harvick, 88, will be held at 2:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 2, 2016, at Union Cemetery in Comanche County, with Minister Jim Haught officiating. Comanche Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. She died Tuesday, Aug. 30, 2016, in Comanche. She was born Feb. 3, 1928, in Comanche County to Lester and Lola Mae (Fortson) Ripley. On Feb. 3, 1946, she married Eugene Willie Harvick in De Leon. She was a homemaker and a member of the Church of Christ. Survivors include two sons, two daughters, nine grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene Harvick. (from obituary in Brownwood Bulletin) The 1930 census recorded Lois Ripley, 2, living on a farm in southern Comanche County, Texas, with father Lester, 36, mother Lola, 25, and siblings: Arel [Orville] C., 6; Vernon, 5; and John L., 4. The 1940 census recorded Lois Ripley, 12, living on a farm in Comanche County, Texas, with father Lester, mother Lola, and siblings: Curtis, 16; Vernon, 15; John L., 14; Doris, 9; and Betty June, 5.
