Funeral services for John W. Loden, age 92, of Rusk are scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Sunday, November 3, 2013 in Mt. Hope Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Don Copeland officiating. Interment will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery under the direction of Wallace-Thompson funeral home in Rusk. Mr. Loden passed away October 31, 2013 at a Rusk nursing home. He was born February 20, 1921 in Rusk to the late Fred and Augusta Woodell Loden. Mr. Loden was a lifelong resident of Rusk and a member of Mt. Hope Missionary Baptist Church in Rusk. He served in the United States Army during World War II and retired as a farmer/rancher. He was preceded in death by his wife, Berneice Loden, son, Charles Edward Loden. Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Raymond and Karen Loden of Rusk, Carl and Norine Loden of Rusk, daughter and son-in-law, Kathy and Randy Chandler of Rusk, sister, Gertrue Hinson of Alto, seven grandchildren, ten great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will include Shannon Langston, Jacob Raiborn, Joshua Raiborn, Chase Loden, Noah Acker and Nathan Acker. An Honorary Pallbearer will be Nicholas Acker. Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Saturday, November 2, 2013 at the funeral home. Obit From Wallace Thompson F. H. Rusk, TX.
