RUTH ANDREWS WIMMER, died on October 17, 2009. She was born October 20, 1910 in Lottie, Louisiana to John Lee and Alberta Roberts Andrews. Preceded in death by her husband Bob Wimmer and sisters Rose Guedry, Doris Goode, Leigh Kent, Hilda Greene, Estelle Andrews. Survived by her son Jim Harrison, step daughter Margaret Wimmer, 5 grandchildren; Gloria Tudor, Shelley Dobbs, Blake Harrison, Sean Lilley, Sarah Lilley, and 8 great-grandchildren; Erin Tudor, Megan Dobbs, Mark Tudor, Robby Dobbs, Bo Harrison, Cooper Harrison, Addie Lilley, and Mason Lilley.Ruth was a loving wife and generous mother, grandmother, and friend. She loved God and practiced her faith as a member of Epworth Methodist Church. Life was not always good to her. She lost her dad when she was 3 years old and her mother at 16 years. Ruth loved her family and friends which gave her the strength to survive many challenges in her life. Nanny was her name by her grand kids which were the love of her life. Her last years of life were in the hands of Clarewood House and the loving caregivers that made her final days meaningful. We were very blessed to have her in our lives and the memory of her will live with us for eternity.Visitation will be on Tuesday, October 20, 2009 at 1:00pm - 2:00pm at Forest Park Lawndale Funeral Home with a chapel service to start at 2:00pm. Internment will follow in our cemetery.
