BURWELL — Frank Joseph “Bud” Bratka, 92, of Burwell died Wednesday, Oct. 4, 2017, at Community Memorial Health Center in Burwell. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Bethany Lutheran Church in Ord. Burial will be in the Cottonwood Cemetery at Burwell. Pastor Glenda Pearson will officiate. Hitchcock Funeral Home in Burwell is in charge of the arrangements. Bud was born Jan. 30, 1925, at Sargent to James and Josie (Eret) Bratka. On Dec. 20, 1944, he entered the United States Army and was honorably discharged on May 5, 1946. Bud married Lois Zlomke on Oct. 10, 1948, in Taylor. Survivors include two children, Connie Benjamin of Lincoln and Lex and Patti Bratka of Burwell; a son-in-law, Tim Meagher of Fort Worth, Texas; four grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; and a sister, Gloria Beach of Hildreth. Bud was preceded in death by his wife, Lois, and a son, Steve Bratka.
