Services will be 1:30 p.m. Thursday in the chapel of Apfel-Butler-Geddes Funeral Home. The Rev. George Wheat will officiate. Burial will be in Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery... Mrs. Wooten was born July 27, 1925, in Hall County to Henry and Alice Devore Lacy. She was educated in District No. 9 Howard County Rural School and grew to womanhood in the Hall County community. She married Albert UMMEL in 1945 at Smith Center, Kan. Mr. Ummel died in May 1959. She married Clyde WOOTEN on Aug. 19, 1959, in Shelton. The couple lived in Grand Island. Mr. Wooten died in August 1984. She continued to make her home in Grand Island. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church and Fraternal Order of Eales Auxiliary Aerie 378. Survivors include five sons, Gary Ummel, Tommy Ummel Sr., Jimmy Ummel, Albert Ummel Jr. and Raymond Wooten, all of Grand Island; 18 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Raymond (Irene) Stunkel, also of Grand Island, and other relatives. She ws preceded in death by her husband, parents, two brothers, two sisters and a grandson.
