ORD — Rosalie T. Leggett, 84, of Ord passed away unexpectedly at her home Thursday, Aug. 31, 2017. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Ord. The Rev. Tom Ryan will officiate. Private inurnment will be in the Ord Catholic Cemetery. Ord Memorial Chapel is in charge of the arrangements. Rosalie Theresa was born Sept. 5, 1932, in Valley County to Louie W. and Cecilia (Absalon) Blaha. She was raised in Valley County, received her education at Plain Valley and graduated from Ord High School in 1951. Rosalie continued her education at Kearney State College. On Oct. 29, 1953, Rosalie married Kerry E. Leggett at Ord. To this union four children were born. Rosalie lived her life in Ord. She worked as a nurse in the surgical department and in the lab at the Valley County Hospital. She then served as the director for Region 26 and later worked for Mid-Nebraska Individual Services as a caregiver for 15 years. For the last several years, she has been the librarian and an aide at St. Mary’s Catholic School. Rosalie loved helping people and cared for many people in their homes. She was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church and the Altar Society. She belonged to the Ord DOES and had served as president. She was involved in Valley County Extension Club, Valley County Health System Auxiliary and Valley County Historical Museum. She enjoyed gardening and spending time with her grandchildren. Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Kip A. and Hisako Leggett of Chula Vista, Calif.; a daughter and son-in-law, Julie and Randy Wilson of Ord; one sister and brother-in-law, Dorothy and Jerry Maurice of Arizona; six grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; an infant daughter, Ann Leggett; and a daughter, Kay Hamilton.
