Vidella J. "Dolly" Rogers, 87, passed away on Wednesday, August 23, 2017. Dolly was born November 24, 1929 in Rockville, Nebraska, the daughter of Vince and Ruth Suchanek. She spent her entire life caring for others. Coming out of the Great Depression, at the age of 12, Dolly and her older sister lived and worked in the homes of others to help her family survive. Dolly married John C. Rogers in February 1948 and spent 20+ years in Southern California managing the clerical staff at Synthane-Taylor, while also renovating beautiful homes with her husband John. Due to John's failing health they relocated back to Ord, Nebraska and continued her many talents renovating homes. Dolly was pivotal in the creation and development of the Valley County Historical museum and volunteered her time with many local organizations. She was an active and vocal citizen, attending many city council meetings working to benefit everyone in the community. She was a fiercely loyal and protective advocate of those close to her, or otherwise. An Incredible mother, grandmother, great and great-great grandmother who taught all of us to love unconditionally and defend what was morally just. Always. Dolly was preceded in death by: husband John C. Rogers; parents, Vince and Ruth Suchanek; brothers, Rey and Lonnie Suchanek; sister, Arvilla Gaines; and son-in-law, Richard Ackerman. Dolly is survived by: daughter, Cynthia Ackerman; granddaughter, Lisa and Brandon Theis; great-grandchildren, Jonah Theis and Mina Lloyd; and a soon to be great great-granddaughter, Bella.
